Visualising company strategy

Client: BBC Worldwide
Sector: Media
Deliverables: Interactive Rich Picture

Brief: A CEO needs to explain his vision and to drive the organisation forward. At BBC Worldwide there is a very large group of stakeholders including the global customers, BBC, BBC Trust, politicians, staff, partners and independent talent. Could a flexible, updatable, compelling visual presentation help with communication?

Process: We listened to John Smith, CEO, present his summary of the business, and we discussed it with him in detail. We then developed a map of all the key elements that make up BBC Worldwide, working on which issues were relevant to which audiences in order to establish the structure for an interactive Rich Picture.

Solution: We developed the visual metaphor of a biosphere; a tree-like structure where branches interlink and feed each other. This allowed us to animate how the organisation had grown over time. You can click on any element to reveal more detail, and our unique ‘drag & drop’ component allows tailored detail to be added for specific meetings.

Result: Its success lies in its flexibility, making it easy to jump from one element to another, reflecting the ebb and flow of a conversation. John Smith declared it was ‘genius’, and said that all future presentations should use this intuitive format.
